Oh, the Possibilities!

January 1st always feels like a big moment to me. A first-day-of-school, new job, sign-on-the-dotted-line kind of day. And to prepare for it, I love the ritual of setting new goals. I’ve been putting them to paper every year since, well, a typewriter like this one sat on my desk.

The past 2 years, I’ve used Michael Hyatt’s Five Days to your Best Year Ever as my planning guide.  In addition to writing your goals down (you’re 42% more likely to achieve them that way), Michael also suggests identifying your key motivations.  “People lose their way when they lose their why.”
My creative goals for 2016.

Even though we now have so many high-tech options for tracking our resolutions, I still prefer plotting my progress on paper. There is SO much pleasure in checking off those boxes!

A new year, a new project on the bead tray, and all my goals tucked in a notebook for easy review at the end of each week. How about you? Do you relish making goals or are you happiest just having a general idea of what you want to do in the coming year?
